APPLICATION

  • Zinc oxide occupies a unique position in rubber processing because it identifies its effectiveness as an accelerator activator in the vulcanization process. Other prominent rubber applications for zinc oxide include; The foam control in the networks, the reinforcement in white stock, the improved thermal conductivity and the aging in flexion of the stock and the resistance to the verification of the sun.
  • As a pigment in linen oil exterior paints, it protects the vehicle by absorbing ultraviolet rays from the sun, hardens the film by the formation of zinc soaps and inhibits mold formation by its fungistic properties.
  • It is applied in transparent and semi-transparent glazes for art items, dishes, stoneware, sanitary ware, etc. It reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion, gives high gloss and luster and high stability against stress deformation when used in glass.
  • Zinc is now recognized as an essential mineral for all animal feed. Zinc oxide is the most preferred form because of its high purity, insolubility and low cost.
  • Zinc oxide is also used in adhesives, transparent rubber, photocopying, coatings, U.V resistant plastics, cosmetics and medicines, batteries, matches, agriculture.

Zinc-O-Algeria offer various grades of zinc oxide for a wide range of applications. We guarantee high quality, competitive price and constant supply.

What is zinc oxide? Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a fine white powder. The first use of industrially produced zinc oxide was the production of white paints.

Three different processes are used for its manufacture: two thermal processes and a wet chemical process. A thermal process starts from metallic zinc, the other from zinc oxide residues or minerals. In both processes, zinc vapor is generated and burnt with zinc oxide. In the wet process, the zinc is leached from raw materials containing zinc and then precipitated as zinc / carbonate hydroxide.
